A deadly shooting inside an apartment in Troy, New York has left a 34 year old woman dead and a community searching for answers. Shardonay Tyce of Albany was shot on May 6, 2026, in the Lansingburgh neighborhood at Lion's Factory Apartments located at 750 Second Avenue.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance and found Tyce suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite efforts to save her life, she died from her injuries on May 11, 2026, days after the shooting.
Investigators later confirmed the case is now being treated as a homicide, with early findings suggesting the violence stemmed from a physical altercation between Tyce and someone she knew. This detail has raised concerns about escalating conflicts that turn deadly behind closed doors.
Authorities have identified a person of interest as 35 year old Kean Wiggins of Albany. At this time, police have not confirmed an arrest, and Wiggins is believed to be wanted for questioning in connection to the case. The fact that a suspect may still be at large has intensified urgency around the investigation.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward as they work to piece together what led up to the shooting and where the suspect may be now. Cases like this often rely heavily on witness cooperation, especially when incidents happen in private apartment settings where fewer bystanders are present.
Shardonay Tyce’s death is another example of how quickly situations can escalate into irreversible violence. Her life was taken in a space where she should have felt safe, leaving family and loved ones grieving and waiting for justice.
As the investigation continues, community members are being urged to speak out, share tips, and help authorities bring accountability in this case.
