A heartbreaking case in Flint, Michigan has left a family devastated after 9 year old Tyhari Knox was shot and killed while sleeping inside her home on May 8, 2026.

Police say more than 200 rounds were fired into the house on Altoona Street, turning what should have been a safe space into a scene of chaos. Tyhari was struck and killed, while her 12 year old sister, Allyson Galloway, was critically injured in the same attack.
Family members say Tyhari was innocent and full of life, describing her as a loving child who did not deserve such a violent end. Her parents are now pleading for answers, urging those responsible to come forward and face justice.
Investigators believe multiple shooters were involved, but as of now, no arrests have been made, leaving the case unsolved and the community on edge. Police have stated this is a top priority investigation as they continue searching for those responsible.
Community leaders say this tragedy has shaken Flint, with growing concerns about gun violence impacting children. Tyhari’s mother is now calling for change, urging parents and the community to step in before more lives are lost.
Tyhari was just 9 years old, asleep in her own bed, when her life was taken. Now, her family is left grieving and asking for justice that has yet to come.
